For our innovative client we are looking for a AWS Cloud engineer.


Location: Amsterdam area
Duration: 6+ months
Startdate: flexibel, depending on availability
Hours a week: 40 (32 is debatable, but 40 hrs/week is preferable, 1 day working at home is an option)

Functie

The types of activities we expect you to do are:
– cloud operations:such as account creations, fulfilling network requests on cloud, provide support for internal teams developing services in public cloud.
– knowledge transfer: pick up knowledge of the previous cloud team and be able to transfer this to any new hires for these roles.
– provide consultancy on establishing effective cloud and SAAS governance.

The situation is that we are (re) building a Cloud team within our central IT department to replace resources that have moved to other teams. Hence we are looking for a self starter able to quickly learn the land and be able to help in recruitment of staff and transferring of knowledge to new team members. We have 14 product units that are responsible for developing services themselves, the Cloud Ops team mainly supports these activities, so there is no active service development within this team – there may be some development of self service capabilities.

Functie-eisen

Must haves:
– AWS experience
– Experience with cloud security and logging features such as IAM, policies, SSO, CloudTrail, ARM
– Familiar with DevOps tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, git, Jenkins, …
– Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages (bash, python, Ruby, javascript, …)
– Linux system and or Windows administration and engineering background
– General networking skills required (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, etc.)
– Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on mentality and talent for solving problems proactively
– An automate-first mindset
– Ability to think out of the box and bring new ideas to the table
– Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) team, be a voice in refinement of backlogs
– Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers, vendors and partners, across all levels of the organisation (English)
